The International Forum for Drug and Alcohol Testing (IFDAT) is an annual event where drug testing and related industry professionals join together to identify and improve the challenges of testing in different regions of the world. The IFDAT conference provides a forum for employers and industry providers to hear and discuss best practices, to learn about new developments, like changes in policies and technology, and to find ways to enhance the international employee screening process.
Now in it’s seventh year, the IFDAT conference will host a number of prominent professionals speaking about a variety of topics. Such topics will include: Worldwide Testing, Alternate Testing Methods, Legal Challenges in Testing, MRO Services, New Technology in Testing, Contractor Compliance in the Oil & Gas Industry, Testing in the Aviation Industry and more.

This course was designed to provide a basic overview of the tools and knowledge needed to work safely at the Phillips 66 San Francisco Refinery. The interactive program focuses on safety, health, and environmental compliance, as well as mandated process safety management information.

• Course duration is 2 hours and 15 minutes.
• Students must have one of the following prerequisites to participate in the course:
- A current DSOP card
- A current RSO card
- A current Basic Plus card w/GAP Training for out of state workers
• Training is valid for two calendar years from the date of completion.
• Employers are responsible for registering their employees for these classes.
• Payment for re-tests is determined by each employer.

DISA to Manage Drug & Alcohol Testing Requirements for NMC
As part of an ongoing commitment to maintain a safe and drug-free workplace, Norco Manufacturing Complex (NMC) is enhancing its substance abuse testing requirements for contractors and their workforces. NMC will be centering this important safety initiative on new requirements for all contractors and have selected DISA’s Contractors Consortium to manage the program.
ODAPC Publishes New Employer Handbook
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of Drug and Alcohol Policy and Compliance (ODAPC) announced Monday, June 1, 2015 they have updated the “What Employers Need to Know About DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing” guidelines, also known as the “Employer Handbook.” Last revised in October 2010, this new version can be viewed at http://www.dot.gov/odapc/employer_handbook. A summary of changes made to the “Employer Handbook” can be found on the last page of the booklet.
The ODAPC webpage, http://www.dot.gov/odapc, is a great resource for other pertinent drug and alcohol testing information that you can use to strengthen your understanding of DOT and USCG requirements. It also has materials and information your service agents can use to help with your program management.
