The DISA WE (Women Empowerment) Alliance aims to continue increasing the number of women leaders at DISA. It is designed as an all-encompassing resource for employees to enhance their growth and professionalism inside and outside the workplace.

WE surprised four lucky members with a ticket to a SharpHeels conference of their choice. Our members won this amazing opportunity just by attending our Q2 speaker session!
We spoke with Tiffany Martin about her experience at the conference. Here's what she had to say:
What does the SharpHeels organization do?
SharpHeels is a career and lifestyle brand that engages, educates, and empowers professionals among their community of peers, mentors, and expert leaders.
What was the conference about?
What did they focus on?
The SharpHeels Career Summit focused on women in business and climbing the executive ladder, giving helpful advice and skills for others to create a pathway of their own to success in the corporate world.
The summit was very intriguing for me, and I took away several things from their executive leadership team.
I enjoyed the summit so much that I asked for the founder’s information because I’m interested in getting more involved with this organization and becoming a part of their community. I also had an opportunity to break bread and network with some of the panelists and executives after the summit was over. I would absolutely love to go again if the opportunity arises!
Negotiating what I am worth when it comes to promotions and new opportunities. It was also very interesting to learn how so many of the panelists climbed the corporate ladder by gaining more experience through new jobs and finding roles/companies that placed emphasis on valuing their employees and their career growth.
The panelists also suggested finding a mentor to help guide you to success, learn how to open new doors and take the proper pathways that will drive that success. I have always had a strong desire to find the right mentor for my professional development, and I’m excited that this advice aligns with DISAWE’s plans to roll out a mentorship program.
Absolutely! I think the SharpHeels founder, Ashley Poulin, would make a great guest speaker for DISAWE, and I would also love to see DISAWE partner with SharpHeels for future events or experiences.
The SharpHeels Career Summit was loaded with everyday women who had a desire, a goal, and a plan to be seen, heard, and respected in corporate America. When DISAWE was born, I was excited about the opportunity to network with colleagues and learn new skills that will add to my growth here at DISA. Before DISAWE, I carved my own path and reached out to a few of DISA’s women Directors to learn about their journey into leadership because it was an aspiration of mine. Since then, DISA has grown tremendously, and we continue to grow, adding more and more leaders every day with aspiring advice and credentials. I’m really looking forward to the mentorship program that DISAWE is working on to help guide aspiring women like myself with professional growth and development.
DISAWE has provided a platform to learn new skills and techniques from some inspiring speakers who have helped me grow both personally and professionally. I also love seeing the internal spotlights and presentations from our very own DISAWE rock stars!
