Impairment Science's app, DRUID, assesses workers' fitness for duty by detecting and measuring cognitive and motor impairment, thereby reducing incidents, accidents, and injuries, saving lives, and boosting productivity. The DRUID mobile app is a performance-based method for assessing workplace safety that, in 1 minute, accurately detects and measures cognitive-motor impairment due to any cause or combination of causes, including fatigue due to sleep deprivation or physical or mental exertion, alcohol, cannabis, prescription medications, illicit drugs, acute illness, injury, concussion, chronic disease, heat stress, or severe emotional distress. The app comprises 3 tasks: a balance task, and two game-like tasks that assess decision-making, reaction time, hand-eye coordination, and time estimation under conditions of divided attention. DRUID is used primarily by employers to assess whether workers in safety-sensitive jobs are fit for duty. The assessment is accurate, quick, portable, sensitive, objective, and inexpensive. The app has an accompanying database and management portal, DRUID ENTERPRISE, that records and visualizes DRUID scores in real time for any period. It also allows scheduling tests, sending instant alerts to management about individuals who may be impaired, and filtering data by multiple variables for analysis of individual or group impairment.
