DISA Global Solutions is proud to announce the recipients of the 2026 Melissa Linville Criminal Justice Scholarship, an annual award honoring the life and legacy of Melissa M. Linville. This scholarship recognizes outstanding students who are committed to justice, service, and creating meaningful change in their communities through careers in the criminal justice field.
Created in 2014, the scholarship pays tribute to Melissa's compassion, integrity, and dedication to helping others. Each year, one or more students receive a scholarship to support their post-secondary education and their pursuit of careers that reflect these same values.

This year, DISA is proud to recognize exceptional students whose passion, leadership, and commitment to serving others embody the spirit of the Melissa Linville Criminal Justice Scholarship.
Tyler Schweer, a student at California State University San Marcos, is pursuing a bachelor's degree in criminology. Inspired by a lifelong commitment to service, Tyler plans to attend law school and build a career as a public service attorney, where he hopes to advocate for victims, protect the rights of others, and strengthen trust between communities and the justice system.
Tyler's passion for criminal justice has been shaped by years of community service and leadership. From volunteering through his church and helping families experiencing homelessness to serving as president of Casa Hogar La Gloria, a high school organization that supports an orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico, he has consistently looked for opportunities to make a meaningful difference. More recently, his internship with the City of San Diego Family Justice Center gave him firsthand experience assisting attorneys and staff who support victims of domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse, sexual assault, and human trafficking. This fall, Tyler will continue that work through JusticeCorps, where he will help self-represented litigants navigate the legal system and improve access to justice. Alongside these experiences, Tyler has maintained an impressive GPA, earning Dean's List recognition every semester while balancing school, work, leadership, and volunteer service.
Receiving the Melissa Linville Criminal Justice Scholarship will help Tyler continue pursuing his goal of becoming an attorney dedicated to public service. His commitment to advocating for others, serving his community with integrity, and ensuring every individual is treated with fairness and dignity reflects the compassion, service, and leadership that define Melissa Linville's legacy.
Brittney Moore, a student at Florida Gulf Coast University, is pursuing a dual degree in Forensic Studies and Computer Science with a concentration in cybersecurity. Combining her passion for technology with a desire to serve others, Brittney plans to build a career in digital forensics, where she hopes to use technology to help law enforcement recover and analyze critical evidence that brings justice to victims and their families.
Brittney's path toward criminal justice began through her local Sheriff's Office Explorer Program. What started as curiosity quickly became a calling as she gained firsthand experience with law enforcement, community outreach, and public service. During three years in the program, she completed more than 130 volunteer hours, participated in initiatives like the annual "Kids, Cops, and Christmas" event, and developed leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills while building meaningful relationships with officers and members of her community. Today, she continues building on those experiences while balancing a rigorous dual-degree program, working as a tutor, substitute teacher, Learning Assistant, and completing internships as she works toward a career in digital forensics.
Receiving the Melissa Linville Criminal Justice Scholarship will help Brittney continue pursuing her goal of becoming a digital forensic analyst with a law enforcement agency. Her dedication to serving others, passion for lifelong learning, and commitment to using technology to strengthen criminal investigations reflect the compassion, integrity, and service that define Melissa Linville's legacy.
