DISA Global Solutions is proud to announce that applications for the 2026 Melissa Linville Criminal Justice Scholarships are now open! These annual $500 scholarships honor the memory and legacy of Melissa M. Linville, a cherished former member of the DISA team, by supporting two students pursuing post-secondary education with a focus on a career in criminal justice.

The scholarship continues a tradition that began in 2014, recognizing students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership potential, and a clear commitment to making a positive impact in the criminal justice field.

About the Melissa Linville Criminal Justice Scholarship

The scholarship was created to honor Melissa M. Linville, whose life and work left a lasting mark on those around her. Through this annual award, DISA continues to celebrate students who are committed to service and who want to strengthen their communities through a career in criminal justice.

Who Should Consider Applying

The Melissa Linville scholarship is intended for two students currently enrolled in post-secondary education, high school seniors, or recent high school graduates pursuing post-secondary education with a focus on criminal justice. The scholarship supports students who are preparing for careers connected to justice, service, advocacy, legal reform, law enforcement, forensics, psychology, or related areas of study.

Eligible students may come from a range of academic and career paths related to criminal justice, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and current full-time or part-time enrollment in classes.

What to Include in Your Application

DISA asks applicants to submit their name, email address, phone number, transcript as proof of enrollment for the upcoming fall semester, and a 1–2 page essay. The essay should describe the applicant’s ambitions and goals in criminal justice, reasons for choosing this career path, and long-term goals, including how the scholarship will help support those plans.

How Applications Will Be Reviewed

In order to identify students who both meet the eligibility requirements and reflect the purpose behind this scholarship, DISA will review essays based on the applicant’s ambition and desire to contribute to the criminal justice field, demonstrated knowledge and commitment to a criminal justice career, leadership qualities, and eagerness to learn.

Recent recipients, for instance, have gone on to pursue goals connected to conservation law enforcement, legal advocacy, restorative justice, and youth empowerment.

Continuing Melissa’s Legacy

More than a simple financial reward, the Melissa Linville Criminal Justice Scholarship is a tribute to a life remembered for kindness, generosity, and dedication to others. We at DISA Global Solutions are honored to support students whose goals reflect those same values.
