Every package delivered, grocery shelf stocked, construction site supplied, and critical shipment received; all of this, at some point, depends on a professional truck driver.
Millions of professional truck drivers travel America’s roads, delivering the goods and resources people depend on every day. However, much of their work happens out of public view, even though nearly every part of our daily life depends on it.
During this 38th National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, we here at DISA Global Solutions join the transportation industry in recognizing and thanking the drivers whose skill, dedication, and commitment to safety help our businesses operate and our communities thrive.
National Truck Driver Appreciation Week 2026
National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW) is an annual nationwide observance led by the American Trucking Associations (ATA) to recognize professional truck drivers and their contributions to the U.S. economy and everyday life.
Truck drivers supply businesses and communities with food, medicine, building materials, heavy equipment, and countless other necessities; in fact, more than 80% of U.S. communities rely exclusively on trucks to meet their freight transportation needs.
Those deliveries often mean working long hours, changing weather and traffic conditions, tight schedules and regulatory requirements, and significant time away from home.
Professional Drivers and Road Safety
Commercial drivers operate large vehicles across highways, city streets, and rural roads every day, and doing so safely requires training, awareness, sound judgment, and sustained attention.
Drivers also work within a highly regulated industry, with rigorous hours-of-service rules, driver qualification standards, drug and alcohol testing requirements, and other Department of Transportation regulations.
To meet those requirements while delivering freight safely and reliably, our drivers need to demonstrate the utmost professionalism. And their continuing work on that front deserves recognition.
Ways to Thank a Truck Driver
Driver appreciation does not have to be elaborate. Small, sincere gestures can make all the difference in a truck operator's life.
Employers and communities can recognize National Truck Driver Appreciation Week by hosting meals or events, acknowledging strong safety records and career milestones, featuring drivers in company communications or on social media, and providing gifts or incentives.
A simple "thank you" can also go a long way. Drivers often spend extended periods away from family and friends, and simple recognition can show them that their effort and sacrifices are noticed.

Thank You to America’s Professional Truck Drivers
National Truck Driver Appreciation Week provides us with an opportunity to recognize professional drivers, but their contributions extend well beyond one week.

Your work supports communities and businesses across the country every day.
Happy National Truck Driver Appreciation Week 2026 from DISA Global Solutions.
