DISA Global Solutions is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Melissa Linville Criminal Justice Scholarship, an annual award honoring the life and legacy of Melissa M. Linville. This scholarship recognizes outstanding students who are committed to justice, service, and creating meaningful change in their communities through careers in the criminal justice field.

Created in 2014, the scholarship pays tribute to Melissa’s compassion, integrity, and dedication to helping others. Each year, one or more students receive a scholarship to support their post-secondary education and their pursuit of careers that reflect these same values.

The 2025 application window is now closed. Thank you to all who applied and shared their powerful stories and aspirations. We are honored to play a small part in supporting the next generation of justice leaders.

Meet the 2025 Scholarship Recipients

This year, DISA is proud to recognize two exceptional students whose passion, leadership, and long-term goals reflect the spirit of this scholarship.

Allison Moore

Allison Moore, a student at Lake Superior State University, is pursuing both a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a Conservation Officer concentration and an Associate degree in Criminal Justice Law Enforcement with the MCOLES (Michigan Commission of Law Enforcement Standards) certification. Her ultimate goal is to become a Conservation Officer with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR), a role that perfectly merges her passion for public service and the protection of natural resources.

Driven by a deep commitment to conservation and ethical outdoor practices, Allison aspires to uphold and enforce environmental laws while educating the public on sustainable use of Michigan’s natural heritage. Her long-term vision includes becoming a leader within the DNR Law Enforcement Division, where she hopes to mentor new officers and help shape future conservation strategies. With her dedication to continuous learning, she plans to pursue additional certifications and specialized training to better serve her community.

Receiving the Melissa Linville Criminal Justice Scholarship brings Allison one step closer to attending the MCOLES academy and achieving full law enforcement certification in Michigan. Her passion, integrity, and sense of purpose embody the spirit of this award and reflect the same values that defined Melissa Linville’s legacy.

Jamelah Edwards

Jamelah Edwards, who will begin her Political Science studies at Tuskegee University in Fall 2025, is driven by a mission to transform the criminal justice system through advocacy, compassion, and education. Raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland, just miles from the nation’s capital, Jamelah witnessed firsthand the complexities of justice and inequality. Inspired by her family’s background in law enforcement and her own experiences navigating the intersection of law, policy, and lived reality, she has committed herself to becoming a criminal defense attorney who sees the person behind every case.

Through programs like Operation Understanding DC (OUDC) and the Advanced Law and Trial Internship, Jamelah has already begun to shape a future grounded in service and change. She has spoken on Capitol Hill, advocated for the Do Not Harm Act, and worked directly with clients facing unjust charges, always leading with empathy and conviction. Her goal is to build a career focused on restorative justice, alternatives to incarceration, and empowering youth to understand their rights.

Receiving the Melissa Linville Criminal Justice Scholarship will support Jamelah as she embarks on her collegiate journey at Tuskegee. Her passion, leadership, and unwavering dedication to justice reflect the values this scholarship honors and the legacy of Melissa Linville herself.

Continuing Melissa’s Legacy

The Melissa Linville Criminal Justice Scholarship exists not only to support aspiring justice professionals, but also to carry forward Melissa’s legacy—one grounded in compassion, fairness, and service to others. Through this annual award, DISA honors Melissa’s life and empowers students like Allison and Jamelah to build careers that reflect her values.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to this year’s recipients and look forward to seeing the positive change they will bring to the world.
