As an employer, you are responsible for your employees’ actions. Therefore, it is important that your employees have a valid driving licence when they are out on the roads. Regardless of where you operate, whether it involves lorry drivers, crane operators, ambulance drivers, or those who frequently drive for job-related tasks, we help you verify all types of driving licences. A driving licence is valid for between 5 and 10 years, depending on the category. Hence, we recommend performing a driving licence check during recruitment and employment, as well as conducting a background check every 3 years to ensure employees' continued good conduct.

How exactly is the driving licence verified?
When the candidate uploads a copy of their driving licence into DISA's International screening software, it must meet quality requirements. For instance, the copy must not be overexposed or blurry. The candidate must then state the country where the driving licence was issued and whether the licence has ever been stolen or lost.
Additionally, Mitek checks if the passport, ID card, or driving licence appears in the VIS register (Verification Identification System) and/or in international lists like Interpol. These registers cover all documents previously reported stolen or missing.
Our data partner uses algorithms to verify authenticity. Additionally, an expert also reviews the driving licence. Therefore, even international driving licences can be checked through us.

How long does it take to verify a driving licence?
When a copy of the driving licence is uploaded by the candidate, no discrepancies are found by the algorithm, and the expert does not doubt the licence, the processing time is less than one working day.
If the copy is not of good quality, a new copy is requested, which delays the process. The process is also delayed if there are discrepancies and/or doubts about a driving licence.

When can I see the report of the driver’s license check?
Both the employer and the employee can see the interim reports right after our screening consultants have completed the check. When all types of checks are complete, both candidates and clients can download a final report. A notification will be sent to both.
Can I access my screening account anytime and anywhere?
Yes, you can access the progress and results of the screening anytime and anywhere through our screening application. You only need internet access to log in to your account.
Are driver's licenses valid identification documents?
No, in Sweden and some other European countries, driver’s licenses are not valid identification documents. More often, you need a national ID card or passport. However, for the driver’s license check, you need to upload a valid and authentic driver’s license card.
