Education check through our professional data supplier DUO
The advantage of our partnership with DUO is the direct contact so that diplomas can be checked rapidly. This contributes to a shorter processing time for the complete employment screening. In addition, the security of personal data can be guaranteed continuously by working together with professional data suppliers.
If a diploma does not appear in the DUO diploma register, DISA will contact the respective educational institution.
Diploma check for foreign studies
International diplomas can also be checked. For this, DISA works closely with Nuffic and Qualification Check. Nuffic is a Dutch independent non-profit organisation focused on internationalisation in education and, like DUO, Nuffic analyses the authenticity and validity of the relevant diplomas. It also checks whether the educational institution is accredited in its country of origin.
International diploma and Dutch equivalent
Lastly, Nuffic and Qualification Check identifies the Dutch equivalent to which the international diploma can be compared. For example, a university or bachelor’s degree. As there are no senior secondary vocational education courses (MBO) outside of the Netherlands, there is no appropriate comparison to be made.
An additional charge applies for verifying an international diploma. You will receive this invoice as soon as DISA has requested the verification from Nuffic. The average processing time is ten working days.

Especially in this sector, it is important to be aware of the validity of the Wft diploma. This is partly due to the often changing requirements within this sector.
A BIG (Professions in Individual Health Care) registration is proof of professionalism among healthcare professionals in the Netherlands. Frequently asked questions about the diploma check
You can recognise an unvalid diploma in different ways. Often the quality of the paper is different and the prints, such as stamps, deviate from the original documents. It can also happen that a diploma contains unprofessional logos or spelling mistakes. Incorrect layout or forged signatures that do not match the standards of the issuing authorities also occur. In particular, the lack of watermarks, holograms or other security features can indicate a forgery. When checking diplomas, it is always important to pay attention to the details. This way you can verify the authenticity with the issuing institution.
DISA checks the authenticity of diplomas by verifying whether the document is registered with the relevant educational institution or organisation. Is there a certificate of authenticity on the diploma? This official statement confirms that the diploma was issued by the institution in question. It also checks for other security features, such as unique codes and watermarks that can only be found on the real documents. By using advanced verification methods, DISA ensures that the diploma is verified, complete and correct.
