Opioid use and drug addiction continues to grow at an alarming rate. The negative impact for employers and the public has become a national crisis. Last month, the President signed an Executive Order that will target the issue with the creation of the President’s Commission on Drug Addiction and Opioid Crisis. The order stated that the policy of the executive branch will be "to combat the scourge of drug abuse, addiction, and overdose (drug addiction), including opioid abuse, addiction, and overdose (opioid crisis)."
This is a powerful statement that demonstrates just how big the problem has become.
