Screening as part of the application process

Many organisations are already familiar with the verification of personal data, but do not (yet) call it screening. During an application process, for example, the LinkedIn page of potential employees is viewed, diplomas are requested and referees are approached. However, because these actions are not classified as screening, they do not comply with current privacy legislation. In addition, due to the absence of an appropriate screening policy, there is a lot of room for error.
