Day with DISA continues to be a tremendous success thanks to our hardworking DISA employees, our speakers who provide pertinent, informative, and in-depth content, and our generous sponsors who support the event. Last year, our first Day with DISA conference brought in over 400 attendees. Just one year later, our 2019 event has doubled with more than 800 attendees, making it one of the largest employee screening events in the U.S.
Last year DISA Global Solutions hosted its first ‘Day with DISA’ conference and networking event. With more than 400 attendees from 260 different companies the event became the second largest drug testing conference in the U.S. This free-to-attend conference focused on marijuana drug testing and hosted experts from across the industry for eight sessions ranging from “State Marijuana Laws and Litigation Strategies” to “Emerging Technologies” to “Designing a Program that Works with Your Marijuana Laws”.
Each year, millions of drug tests and background screens are ordered inside DISAWorks. Our customers count on DISA to ensure both the security of their data and the safety of their workplace. While DISA continues to evolve to meet our customers’ needs, innovation remains a top priority, and in 2018 we were proud to release DISAWorks 2.0 for our customers.
In a 2018 Drug Testing Industry and Brand Name Recognition Survey, DISA Global Solutions was ranked first among drug testing third-party administrators (TPA). This marks the second year in a row DISA has been voted the most recognized brand. In addition, we are pleased to report that University Services (a DISA Global Solutions company) was voted #1 among Medical Review Officers (MRO’s) in brand recognition for the third consecutive year.
We’re pleased to announce that our very own VP of Product Strategy and Development, Steven Spencer, has been appointed to the American Trucking Associations (ATA) Safety Policy Committee. Becoming a member of the committee, Spencer will contribute to the work ATA provides on driver, carrier, and occupational safety and health issues.
Each year companies lose billions due to theft in the office and drug and alcohol abuse. With the ongoing opioid epidemic and the rising popularity and acceptance of marijuana as a “safe” recreational drug, employers must also be aware of the increased risk of drug abuse in their workplaces. In addition, safety-sensitive industries, such as Oil & Gas and Petrochemical, generally incur more workers’ compensation claims than non-safety-sensitive industries due to their higher risk of occupational injury.
