DISA's Educational Assistance Program

Investing in Your Future:

At DISA, we believe in continuous learning and growth. Our Educational Assistance Program is designed to help you enhance your knowledge, skills, and abilities, benefiting both you and the company. This program aims to support your educational pursuits while aligning with the Internal Revenue Code, making it a tax-friendly benefit.

Who's Eligible?

To qualify, you need to be:

  • An active, full-time employee.
  • With DISA for at least 1,000 hours.
  • Meeting or exceeding performance expectations in your latest review.
  • Unfortunately, employees living outside the U.S. aren’t eligible.

Getting Approved:

  • Submit a completed Application for Education Assistance with your course details to HR at least two weeks before your course starts.
  • If you’re continuing in the same approved program, no need to reapply for every new course.
  • New courses outside your approved program will need a fresh application.

Courses We Support:

We’ll consider reimbursing you for courses that:

  • Enhance your job-related skills and knowledge.
  • Are part of your undergraduate or graduate degree program.
  • Eligible institutions include accredited community colleges, universities, trade schools, and professional associations.

Certifications and Licenses:

Certifications, licenses, or designations that boost your job performance or DISA’s credibility are eligible for reimbursement. However, certifications required for your job title or duties are not covered under this program but may be reimbursed through other company budgets.

Reimbursement Limits:

  • You can get reimbursed up to $2,000 per calendar year.
  • Submit your reimbursement request within 30 days after receiving your grades or completion certificate.

How to Submit for Reimbursement:

  • Fill out the Request for Reimbursement for Educational Assistance.
  • Attach all supporting documents and send them to HR.
  • Reimbursements will be processed through payroll and typically take two to six weeks.

Successful Completion Required:

  • You need to score at least a “B” in graded courses or “Pass” in Pass/Fail courses.
  • No reimbursement for grades below a “B” or a “Fail”.

Eligible Expenses:

We cover:

  • Tuition and exam fees.
  • Required lab fees and fees for passed professional exams.

We don’t cover:

  • Costs covered by scholarships or financial aid.
  • Courses available through DISA’s offerings.
  • Elective courses, prerequisite courses, and many other fees.

Staying with DISA:

If you leave DISA within two years of receiving reimbursement, you’ll need to repay the amount. This can be deducted from your final paycheck or you'll need to make arrangements for repayment.

Policy Flexibility:

DISA reserves the right to modify or terminate the Educational Assistance Program at any time, but we’ll honor the terms in effect at the time of your payment.
