Personal Paid Time Off (PPTO)
Balance and Flexibility
In today's fast-paced world, ensuring a work-life balance is more important than ever. Recognizing the significant role that personal time plays in employee well-being and productivity, DISA has put forth a comprehensive Personal Paid Time Off (PPTO) policy. This policy, effective from January 1, 2024, resonates with our core value - "Find Balance". We want to emphasize the importance of spending quality time away from work, whether it's for relaxation, bonding with loved ones, or pursuing personal passions.
Scope and Eligibility:
This policy predominantly caters to our Full-Time employees based in the United States who are paid on an hourly or non-exempt basis. This inclusion encompasses employees who have joined DISA through acquisitions before September 1, 2023. It's worth noting that U.S.-based salaried, exempt, part-time employees, or those stationed outside the U.S., do not come under this policy's purview.
Accrual System and PPTO:
The accrual system is tier-based, corresponding to an employee's service duration. As an employee advances in years at DISA, they'll progress to different tiers and accrue PPTO at varying rates. Notably, there are certain periods, like unpaid leave or reaching the accrual cap, during which PPTO doesn't accumulate.
Utilizing Your PPTO:
When it comes to using your accrued hours, the process is structured yet flexible. Whether it's for vacations, personal moments, or other unique situations not covered by our leave policies, you can leverage your PPTO. However, some guidelines require adherence:
- Ensure timely requests, preferably 10 business days in advance for planned absences.
- For unexpected absences, inform your supervisor before your shift starts.
- Use the dedicated HR system for all PPTO related processes.
Going Negative:
We understand that unprecedented situations may arise. In select circumstances, DISA allows you to use more PPTO hours than you've accrued, provided certain conditions are met, including having been with DISA for at least six months. This is not a regular practice but is a testament to our flexibility.
Ending Your Journey with DISA:
On concluding your tenure with DISA, any remaining PPTO hours will be compensated in your final paycheck. However, if you've used more hours than you've accrued, the difference will be adjusted from the same paycheck.
Ensuring Policy Compliance:
Adhering to this policy is crucial. Non-compliance will lead to necessary actions, ranging from disciplinary measures to possible termination.
