Parental Leave

DISA’s Nurturing Parental Leave Policy

Effective Date: January 1, 2024

Welcoming a new member to your family is a momentous occasion, and at DISA, we understand the importance of being there during those precious initial days. With our Parental Leave policy, we aim to stand by you during this joyous transition.

Who's Eligible?

If you're part of our DISA family in the U.S. and joined us before September 1, 2023, we're here to support you. New parents, whether it's your first time or the next, we’ve got your back!

What’s on Offer?

Navigating the new parenthood maze is tough, but here’s what we have for you:

  • 1 week (40 hours) of paid Parental Leave for the birth or adoption of a munchkin.
  • If you’re opening your home to foster care, you can avail up to 1 week (40 hours) of Parental Leave, split across the year.

How Does it Work?

Our Parental Leave isn't just regular PTO. Here's the lowdown:

  • For births or adoptions, take your leave in a single stretch of 5 days at the event time.
  • Welcoming a foster child? Use up to 5 separate days across the year, each time there's a new placement.
  • Have questions about the Family Medical Leave Act or Paid Family Medical Leave Act? Some of these leaves may coincide, so do check in with us.
  • Planning to claim Short Term Disability benefits? You can use your Parental Leave to cover the waiting period.

A Gentle Reminder:

Misusing the Parental Leave isn’t the DISA way. Any violations will be dealt with seriously – this could range from disciplinary actions to potential termination or legal steps.
