Thinking about trying out a new role?
We Believe in Your Growth – Here’s How Our Internal Transfer Process Works
At DISA, we believe the best work happens when you’re in a role that excites you and fits your strengths. That’s why we actively encourage internal career growth. If you’re interested in a new role or want to take on new challenges, we’re here to support your journey within the company. Here’s how the internal transfer process works:
Why Transfers?
We know that when you’re passionate about your work, you thrive! That’s why we want you to explore opportunities that match your interests, abilities, and goals. If you’re looking for new skills or more responsibilities, we’ve got your back.
When Can You Transfer?
- Eligibility: To apply for a new role, you should have been in your current position for at least 12 months and be doing well (no disciplinary actions or performance issues in the last 6 months).
- Exceptions: If your role is changing significantly, like in the case of a restructuring or reduction in force (RIF), or if your current manager is the hiring manager for the new role, we may waive the 12-month requirement.
- Communication: We encourage you to let your current manager know about your interest in applying for an internal position, though manager approval isn’t required. It’s just a good idea to have a conversation to avoid surprises later.
Heads Up on Moving:
Once you're set to transfer, we'll work out a date that's good for everyone. If you're in a non-exempt role, expect transfer between 3 and 7 weeks after you accept an offer. For those in exempt roles, it'll be between 4 and 9 weeks. We just want to make sure everything runs smoothly in your current department when you make the move.
